My name is Jessica Dames, and I am a communications/public relations student at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. One day I hope to become a publicist working for a celebrity, or fortune 500 company.
I began my college career at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY where I was studying broadcast journalism. I enjoyed it but was more interested in getting involved with public relations.
Considered a "girly girl" by most, I can say that I actually enjoy school! Academically, my interests/strengths are English, and Writing. My hobbies outside of school include traveling, reading, (yes reading lol) spending time with loved ones, and tending to my social media obligations. (ie: twitter, and facebook)
The reason I took the course English 252, is because I wanted to learn more about writing for new media. Being a future public relations professional, knowing the day to day operations of the ever expanding social media phenomenon is almost considered a necessity in my chosen career field.
By viewing this portfolio, I invite you to take a peek at some of my writing highlights from this semester, and leave any input or comments. Enjoy!
